Spazzapan Gallery: The works of the Isonzo painter come to life in a Virtual Reality experience
The Spazzapan Gallery in Gradisca
The Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia Foundation participates, together with the Municipality of Gradisca d'Isonzo and the ERPAC (Regional Body for Cultural Heritage), in the management of the Spazzapan Gallery in Gradisca which houses the most important collection of the painter who died in 1958.
In October 2021, the Foundation commissioned a GoGreen point: a project entirely dedicated to the local artist of national importance Luigi Spazzapan, active in the first half of the twentieth century.
The experience allows us to understand and get to know the painter and his artistic path through an immersive journey in Virtual Reality.
VR Corner
To make the experience completely immersive, a VR corner has been designed consisting of 4 stations that offer a captivating and emotional journey into the world of Luigi Spazzapan, into his life and his works accompanied by thoughts and notes taken from his autobiography.
In retracing some of the salient moments of his formation and his creative process, we discover the relationships with the cultural and pictorial movements that have animated debates, exhibitions and meetings in the great European capitals and in the Italian panorama since the early twentieth century.
From the Viennese Secession to Art Nouveau and Futurism, the pictorial figures deconstruct and merge into cubist, expressionist and finally graphic and abstract experiences.
A continuous evolution of shapes, figures and geometries that tell of a rapidly evolving world, where the pictorial story of Spazzapan is inextricably intertwined with the tragic events of the two world wars.
