An innovative digital set-up tells the story of how man transformed the landscape of the lower Isonzo plain over the past two centuries.
The Building
The museum is set up in the house of the former caretaker of the Idrovora Sacchetti in Staranzano, which is one of the water drainage plants that reclaimed extensive marshes in the 1930s. The Idrovora Sacchetti is now owned by the Consorzio di Bonifica della Venezia Giulia.
Interactive touchscreens
Inside the museum, a series of touch screens allows the consultation of interactive maps that help visitors visualize the transformation of the Isonzo plain, allowing them to understand the techniques of land reclamation and deepen the themes of climate change and sustainable development in order to respect the environment
VR Experience
Thanks to the virtual reality experience, visitors can explore the areas of the wetlands and acknowledge the transformations that occurred as a result of the hydraulic works.
